Like all things "Peppa Pig", my 16 month old granddaughter loves these books. She looks at the pictures and points to her favorite characters and enjoys having them read to her over and over. The book was shipped quickly and was priced right. It's difficult to find "Peppa Pig" items in USA stores because it seems that everything Peppa is made in England and you have to find them online.I like these books so much I bought 10 different books, all published by Scholastic. You can't beat the prices here on Amazon for these books.

My daughter loves peppa pig, and has a big love for books despite her being too young to read them. when I came across this book online and the price seemed good to me, I snatched it up and bought it for my daughter. You should have seen her face that day when she opened the mail, to say her excitement was high would be an understatement. She has carried this book around with her ever since. I read it to her a few times now, but she really enjoys “reading” it to me, telling me who the characters are and what they are doing. The illustration in the book is just as good as the tv show, and the writing is as if I was watching the show myself (if I could sound like an old British guy.) This is a great book, highly recommended.

I bought this book for my niece who just turned two. She is in Ballet class and is into Pegga Pig.This was the best buy for this little girl.She loves it!I am actually going to buy more books for this week.Shipment arrived way ahead of time and that is a hug plus.Thank YouI have no photos because I sent this to Puerto Rico.

It's Peppa Pig how can you go wrong? Good story, nice illustrations. Quality of the cover should last a long time, though the inside pages are conventional paper stock.

My daughter is 4 and she adores this book! It's a thin, paperback book but a cute little story about Peppa's first ballet lesson. The inside back cover has a picture of Peppa toys that she is begging for and carries around to show me. That's my only wish was that there weren't pictures of toys on the inside of the book's cover! Otherwise, it's great! And who knew that Mummy and Daddy Pig used to do ballet!?

Funny! My 5 year old daughter loves it!! She couldn't stop laughing. Might not be a good bedtime story, but a good story, nonetheless. My daughter and I highly recommend this book. The only thing is, on the kindle app for the iPhone, the words appear very small. I have to check if I can adjust that on my settings. If not, I'll just have to make do.

My 5 year old daughter is a Peppa Pig fan and was very excited to get her first Peppa Pig book. For some reason, it's only recently that Peppa Pig books and toys have been readily available. She enjoys the book, but it's not one of her favorites. I think that the French words used in the book confuse her a little, but it does give us a chance to talk about other languages and what the words mean.

This style of book is not my favorite. I think these stories lack the engaging energy of other children's literature. However, if you have Peppa fans in your house this book is lovely. My daughter picks it out frequently and enjoys sitting through it even if it isn't an excellent piece of literature.

My grand daughter just started to take ballet lessons and is a big fan of Peppa Pig. The book was a perfect choice.

This is definitely one of the best cookbooks I have ever purchased. It tells the story of the Jews in each country represented by re pies. The recipes are clearly written. Whatever I have tried, so far, have come out perfect!

The print font used for the ingredients is so small (2 mm) and so faint that unless you have perfect vision and cook in a kitchen with industrial lighting, forget it. The print font used for the instructions is only slightly darker and slightly larger. This so that 90% of the page is blank white paper. Printed in China. Not cook friendly. Only some of the recipes have pictures. And the recipe selection seems random. I get the impression the author pulled out her recipe card file and just grabbed a few. I'm returning the book.

Some cookbooks are born from blogs with massive followings and some cookbooks come not from any corner of the internet but from the most passionate heart and the warmest kitchen. I think this to be very true of Hazana -- Jewish Vegetarian Cooking by Paola Gavin, who has been writing vegetarian cookbooks for the past three decades. When I received Hazana in the mail I was very excited by the prospect of learning more about Jewish vegetarianism.As Gavin moves through 140 traditional Jewish vegetarian recipes from over twenty countries that she traveled to, she reveals how the diet of ancient, nomadic Israelites connects to the modern vegetarian diets of the Jewish diaspora. I found myself learning so much about Jewish culinary heritage and tradition through her dedicated and diligent research. Even though there are four main Jewish communities (the Mizachrim, the Ashkenazim, the Sephardim, and the Italkim) spanning so many countries (Russia, Spain, India, Italy, Greece, Morocco - just to name a few) what she finds is that the "One thing we all have in common is the same love of food and cooking, something that lies at the heart of Jewish life." (7)Gavin does a really excellent job of contextualizing the recipes. In the first couple of chapters she first outlines Jewish holidays and festivals, then Jewish history and culture, and it's throughout the remaining eight chapters that she provides recipes that are specifically chosen because they have "been passed on from mother to daughter for generations, and they are quick, easy to prepare and healthy." (6) She organizes the recipes through the following chapters -- Appetizers and Salads, Soups, Pasta and Dumplings, Grains, Main Courses, Eggs, Vegetables, Desserts. One thing that I noticed is that while all the food photos are gorgeous, they are sparse. For example, for the 17 recipes in the Soup chapter there are 7 photographs, and while this in and of itself doesn't bother me I know that there are people who prefer copious amounts of photos. To each their own.One thing I appreciate the most is being able to try new ingredients or techniques. The ingredient that I had the most fun using was filo pastry, which I used in the Sweet Pumpkin Coils, Mushroom Strudel, and the Pumpkin Triangles. I was able to purchase a box of frozen filo pastry at the grocery store (16 sheets for $3.49 -- very reasonably priced I thought). I found that the filo was fairly easy to work with and the resulting dishes had a lot of plate appeal. For the most part ingredients were very easy to source and the recipes very affordable to make.One technique I tried was making fresh green lasagne noodles. While she directs the home cook to use a rolling pin to roll-out the lasagne sheets I opted to use a pasta maker for sake of ease and convenience. Making this recipe brought me to the realization that the recipes in Hazana require a vast range of abilities from the those of a novice home cook to those of a very advanced one, and that while most of the recipes are easy to prepare there are some that I would categorize as "weekend cooking" (recipes that require the time and patience that only the weekends can usually afford). Maybe my green lasagne noodles didn't look picture-perfect the end result was very tasty and very much enjoyed by my family. This is also an example of a recipe where you could substitute commercially prepared lasagne noodles and still get a great meal.I found that while the recipes were very forgiving in terms of ingredients and substitutions, the instructions and cooking times could have been refined a bit more. For example, when I tried both the Sweet Peppers Stuffed w/ Rice, Pine Nuts and Currants and then the Tomatoes Stuffed w/ Rice and Mint both times I ended up with slightly under-cooked rice. Each of the recipes required extra water to be poured into the dish with the stuffed vegetables before placing the dish in the oven. With the tomatoes, it seemed to only make the tomatoes a bit soggy (even without the extra cooking time) and I wonder if I could have omitted that extra bit of hot water entirely? Since I'm not that familiar with rice-stuffed vegetable recipes it is entirely possible that the fault lies within my abilities (or lack of). With the stuffed tomatoes I was able to cook them a bit longer resulting in cooked rice but with the tomatoes unable to hold their own shape -- that said the dish was one that was enjoyed by my husband and daughter.For the perfectionist in me I learned that I really need to follow my instincts more than following a recipe to the letter sometimes and that Hazana is a good guide to creating delicious food. When recipes are generational they are probably considered to be tried and true but I'm thinking that for modern cooks without the help of previous generations (mothers, grandmothers, etc) it may be a little challenging to understand recipes that may not have each step outlined or assume what the knowledge/background of the home cook is. But what Gavin does really well is to provide flavourful recipes that use pantry-staples. I found it refreshing to move away from on-trend cooking in favour of cooking that is comfort-based.As with most of the cookbooks I review I tried about ten recipes from Hazana and found that for many of the recipes I tried I got the results I was expecting and for a few I didn't get quite what I was expecting (as was the case with those rice recipes).The purpose of Hazana is to first impart the history and heritage behind Jewish vegetarian culinary traditions and then to encourage the cook to focus on the love of cooking for the purpose of bringing people together for nourishment and community. I don't think that there is another cookbook quite like Hazana -- it has a broad appeal that would be interesting to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike.I would like to take this opportunity to thank Quadrille Publishing for providing me with a free, review copy of this book. As a comprehensive and well thought out view of Druidry, I recommend this book. It gives a view of Druidry based on the AODA (Ancient Order of Druids in America) system of which Greer is the leader. While this book provides all the information a person needs to start on the path of Druidry, I would recommend also reading one of the fine books by Philip Carr-Gomm or Emma Restall-Orr to see a slightly different perspective.

Excellent book, clearly written. It provides concrete information about druidry history, current practice, symbolism, and the ogham, Throughout the history section, I felt like the author offered a discerning, academically-sound analysis of what we know instead of taking the classic everything-you-ever-heard-is-true approach. Enough detail was provided about the three rays of light, three circles of manifestation, and three elements of nature that you can actually DO something with the knowledge, instead of needing to pay someone else for more information. A book worthy of my time.

Like many who come to this book, I know John Michael Greer for his Hermetic and general audience political writings. I was aware that he was the AODA's archdruid as well as having an affiliation with ADF, an more explicitly reconstructionist polytheist group. Greer admits that revival Druidry is largely inspired by Masonic, Hermetic, and Victorian romantic revivalist lore and is ecumenical in his approach here. Most of the "Celtic" references are Welsh and there is no theological commitment explicitly made the practice. Greer admits that these roots are early modern and not ancient, and while this will displease some, it is also more honest than some claims to the traditional relationship to Druidry.Like many, I find much of the ritual magic here to be anachronistic to Druidry, although Greer admits this, and just beyond my use of ritual practices. The historical part of the book, which is the first section, was refreshing modest its claims and did accurate the origins interesting, although if you are primarily interested in this aspect of the book, Ronald Hutton's books on Druids are much more detailed. The second part deals with the triads and paths, largely related to the curriculum of the AODA. I admit I do find AODA's take on meditation interesting if mostly speculative.While the most useful to Druidry revitalists in the AODA and OBOD--Celtic Reconstructions and even the ADF druids may not find this as usual--even an outsider to the world like myself can find nuggets of wisdom and use here

I love the fact that this book says right up front that it's not trying to be the "be-all-end-all" authority on Druidry. What it does do is explore Druidry as it's evolved to what it is today, and the beliefs and practices of druids, as well as differentiating between various types of druids on both sides of the Atlantic. I really appreciate the way the author presents the philosophies, the differences, and the history and evolution of Druids and Druidry. It's a really great read! Answered a lot of questions.

Greer does a fantastic job relating, comparing, and showing the stark differences and similarities between The Historical Druids, the Revivalist movement of the self-proclaimed "Druids," and finally, to that of the modern movement known simply as "Druidry." His information is valid, informative, and concise. There was clearly a lot of research and time that went into putting this book together. Greer leaves practically no stone unturned, and the reader will be pleased to walk away informed rather than mis-lead.

This book is well worth the buy. Unlike so many other authors, john makes sure to explain that this is modern druidry, not ancient druidry. He doesnt try to pass off anything as ancient knowledge and even explains that some of the main texts of modern druidry is questionable when you consider whether its ancient or not. He gets you to understand that this is not important. druidry is a way of life, not a religion or a set of dogmas set in stone. Feel welcome no matter what your religion, its about reverance for the earth,land and changing the way you approach modern societies wasteful ways that everyone just accepts as "The way to be". This is by no means an ecofreak book though. It offers ways to change but doesnt act snoody or self rightous.This book is full of mystiscm aswell. It has several elemental charts, including the druid elementals, in depth ritual instructions and wheel of the year info aswell. It lays down the basics of druidism and at the end of the chapters it has a list of suggested reading. On top of this it has a section on the Ogham alphabet, instructs you on the divinitory meaning and such.It also covers meditation. Color breathing, thats all Im gonna say, you need to read the rest lol.It lays down the paths, earth path, sunpath, moon path. And it gives you the 1st degree corriculum, so bassically you can get started right away on your path to druidism. btw i am a follower of the witch path and this is a great way to suppliment that or any religious path.I would reccomend this book to all who are on spiritual paths in life.

Its beauty is in its simplicity and straightforwardness while not only allowing but actually promoting the customization of its teaching and rituals in ways that mesh with your own beliefs, experience, and path of choice. I'm almost finished with this book! It is a great read. In the first half of the book he just verified what I already knew from experience. Sometimes you need to see it spelled out and just laid out. I wish I would have had this book 35 years ago. My parents although well intended did not teach me how the world works and what people do. I could have avoided A LOT of heartache and pain I received by being preyed on by some purely evil people. Dr. Phil does an excellent job of describing the real way things are now. And also shows there is light in the world and how to come out on top without having to be a snake in the grass yourself to compete or deal with those types. I wish he had a version of the book written for teens and tweens. But I definitely recommend getting it yourself and then sitting down with the kids you care about and talking to them about all the stuff in this book in a kind loving manner. I can testify that he is on point with this book as a lot of things in this book I have dealt with personally .

I was not of a big fan of Dr. Phil, however I was a big fan of his spouse Mrs. Robin McGraw. When I was going through one of the rough patches of my life, it just happened to Robin’s first book “Inside My Heart” (2006) came out. It still is one of my favorite books that had sparked in me about the importance of taking care of you as a woman, wife, and mother … another review for another time. Back to the subject... Next I was again going through another rough patch of my life, it just happened to Dr. Phil’s “Life Code” (2013) came out. After I read the “Life Code”, I became a big fan of Dr. Phil. All contents of the book is extremely useful and true an eye opener.“Life Code” is a book may or may not help one to win in the “Real World” everyday for sure, but this book will definitely help one, at least, shed some lights on what he/she is doing wrong, who are these people he/she is dealing with, so that one can take steps towards changes, fight smart and get out of the victim mentality.I have been a life long bullying victim since my early childhood. I have never understood as to why I was always picked on even though I was not a weak individual by any means. I hoped for my life will get better as I get older. Nope, bullying got worse as I got older at my work places. As you read this previous sentence you might think that something could be very wrong with this individual. Yes and No! I used to think that “Everything will be good, because I am a good human being, I have very good values, I am an extremely hard worker and I always help others and care about others” etc. Indeed, it is all true about me. I probably am one of the nicest, kindest and caring persons one will ever meet. But THAT IS the PROBLEM!If you are TOO nice, naive, generous, forgiven, people pleaser and sensitive, there are so many “Vampires” everywhere. I call them “Vampires”, because they have cold hearts and try to suck the life out of you for their benefits and progresses. You are nothing to them. They take advantage of you and try to control and manipulate you for their successes. They want to accomplish what they want at any cost, it does not matter if you are a nice person, a hard worker, an honest individual or have a difficult life or may be living under poverty line and you need that check to pay bills and feed your starving kids, or you are sick and has been ill for a long time. They will squash you down to get what they want in the “Real World“. Many of these kinds of “Vampires” are in power and accomplish what they want. They are everywhere! They want to be in control and they want power and money.“Life Code” The New Rules for Winning in the Real World exposes about the “Life Codes and Rules”, that provides tools and arsenals to fight with the cold-hearted, malicious and manipulative life suckers.The book consists of two parts:Part I reveals about who are these “Bad guys” and how to spot them. These “Bad guys” have" core traits, characteristics, strategies and styles" that uses to bully, use, manipulate “Good guys” in marriages, at work places, and even at churches. They are everywhere. Most importantly this part helps you identifying the people with “Evil Eight” characteristic or the “BAITERS” (B-Backstabbers, A-Abusers, I-Imposters, T-Talkers, E-Exploiters, and R-Reckless). Again, the all content is extremely useful and truly an eye opener.Part II addresses issues of "Stop Being a Target and become a Victim, most importantly “Your New “Life Code” and Rules for Winning in the Real World. The last topic of the Part II tackles a topic on “Parenting in the Real World.”“Parenting in the Real World” section can itself be a great book. I believe how individual is raised has great impacts on his/her future life ups and downs. This section provides information on “Not Crippling Your Own Children”, “How World Really Works” and “Raise Adults”. Based on my own experiences, most of the damages, as who I am today, are done when I was young. My family had instilled in me good old Buddhist/Christian values such as being humble, compassionate, giving and sacrificing, dedicating yourself to the welfare of all others, karma, forgiving and loving your enemies, be always apologetic if you done wrong and on and on. In addition, as a young person, I intensely studied and followed what says in Dale Carnegie books (How to Stop Worrying and Start Living and How to win Friends and Influence People) which told me nothing about the malicious “BAITERS” and beneficial "LIFE CODES” of the real world. Of course these books were written for a long time ago, when people had decent values, and moreover honest hard working people are recognized and appreciated.Finally, I truly believe that Dr. Phil shows that he is an extremely generous person at heart, just by writing this book. Contents of this book may be somewhat verbose and repetitive at times or it has poor editing works etc. yet his messages about the harsh reality is in it. He did convey his messages! Sure there were many self improvement and development books such as “In Sheep’s Clothing” and “Too Nice for Your Own Good”. But I love this book, because it is very simple to read and follow. The only drawback is this book has NO INDEX! I pre-ordered this book and have a hard cover version, no e-version. Given the usefulness of material, and the fact the book should be used as references and learning tools for one’s ongoing self-improvements, it has no index is regrettable! Perhaps it is rushed to print out… All in all, an excellent book! If you gone through similar life experiences of what I went through and what I am still enduing, you will know how useful and true is everything in this book. People who was used, abused, manipulated and their hope and dreams are crushed by the BAITERS will learn something from this book! People who have BAITERS traits will give a 1 STAR for this book and find nothing useful. Thank you very much, Dr. Phil !Lastly, I am a non-native speaker who is trying to improve my English day by day, if you see any typos or grammar errors, anything annoying, verbose or obscure, it is an Amazon review, not an academic paper, please understand. Hopefully the above review conveyed my two-cents on “Life Code” by Dr. Phil McGraw.

Surprisingly informative...well thought out and a must for yourself and your children...young and old in today's world. I'm not a big fan of self-help books, and I wouldn't categorize Life Code as one of those books. It's just full of insight, experience, and helpful advice about those that surround us everyday.

This review is for the quality of the actual physical book, not the subject... the pages are litterally out of order and missing. Pages 28-76 are missing. Then after pages 77-124 it starts over at page 78.

I love Dr. Phil and Robin. I wish I'd read this book when it first came out, but as the saying goes, " better late than never". I have been saying that the ways certain people operate has been different over the past 15-20 years, but I couldn't quite pin point what was going on. Dr. Phil has helped me make sense of so much and I am so grateful. I trust Dr. Phil because he seems to "practice what he preaches". I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to live a value based life in the midst of a culture that seems to have lost its moral compass.

Wow.Terrific book.Great summaries about the "problem" people you are likely to encounter - how to spot them, how to not become fodder for this mill.I was putting so much highlighting at the "Ah Ha!' moments that the whole section was becoming highlighted. That's how good it is.And totally TOTALLY on target about what it takes to succeed - or at least not get totally stampeded - in the workplace.For years I couldn't figure out why I ended up being the one at work who "did all of work but got none of the credit" - read tons of books and tried everything,Now, thanks to Phil McGraw, I see exactly what I have been doing completely wrong, and I am determined to fix it.Not a parent so I admit to kind of glossing over that section but what I read seemed spot on too.If you want to hear about how everything in your life is someone else's fault and have someone to feel bad for you while you explain why things can't change, then you won't enjoy this book.But if you want the Real Skinny from someone who knows how to get to the point, and you want to make meaningful changes to your life, then YES, get this book, read it thoroughly, DO the checklists and get cracking.

Drags for miles... was he paid by the word? I am a huge fan of Dr. Phil, but this book is painful to read. The audio book... painful to listen to. If you have ever heard an infomercial that spends 30 minutes talking about what it is going to tell you, then you will understand what I'm saying here. The book could be summed up in a few pages, with I will say, great material. The rest is ridiculously long winded, blow hard filler.Dr. Phil. Great message. Horrible delivery.
