This book was a huge disappointment. It does not reflect the changes in Reading or Science that took place Sept 2015. I was expecting new exams that reflected the changes, but instead it is literally the exact same book with a different cover! Shame on you Princeton Review!

This book promises 6 practice tests, but the 2 online never worked. When I used the code to get online, the book contents were accessible as were multiple additional things I could purchase, but the practice tests never worked. So I only got 4 out of the 6 tests.

Our process for the ACT looked like this. 1. Pre test, all three of my kids had about a 23. 2. Used cracking the ACT and two others found on Amazon. Kids took one test a day; day one math, day two reading... Every day we would grade and go over the wrong problems and rework them. This went on for about a six weeks and around 15 total tests. By the end they were getting high 30's on the tests. 3 Two weeks before the test we went online and did the of the old tests the ACT publishes and started taking these but taking the entire tests. These are much harder and closer to what the faced on test day. 4. Took the ACT. My kids always did best on the first test, they peaked. Subsequent tried were worse. Nothing replaces repitition!

The book can work as a supplement to "The REAL ACT". However, the section on exponents is ridiculous. The book says to "Basic Exponent Rules" And then there actually aren't any usable examples with solutions. There are a bunch of "x"s and exponents, but they aren't actually attached to any rules and you don't have the answers. It makes absolutely no sense. The next page says "See if you if you can figure out "the special exponent rules" based on what you know about the basic exponent rules. And then of course there are a bunch of numbers with no rules attached, no explanations, etc.The other big disappointment is that several years ago (in the 2011 edition), there was this fantastic section in the Reading chapter on "seeing through the camouflage" or paraphrasing. Since the Reading test rarely gives you a "word-for-word" answer and usually asks you to paraphrase what you read, this section was quite valuable. For some reason, they removed it, even though it was one of the best features of the book.

I am a college student who is tutoring high school students Math, Physics, and SAT/ACT.This book has awesome 6 practice tests and answer solutions that help the students a lot!I would recommend this to any students and teachers who are studying the ACT.Awesome Book in general

I raised my act score 2 points on the April act and only studied for 2 hours out of one day like a week before the act. I just studied the reading section a few days before the June act since I usually only get through 2 passages and on the the act I got through 3 1/2. I think this book is more beneficial than any prep class if you have the focus.

This seemed to help my daughter prepare a little more. Not sure if it was totally necessary in our case because she has test anxiety and only increased in her score by a point. A point is something though, so worth 4 stars if it can help at all.

I bought this for my daughter her junior year of high school. It had easy to follow instructions and actually kept her attention. It also had several practice tests and raised her score 2 points. Definitely worth buying if your child will not attend an act prep class like mine.

Perfect for learning typing the old-fashioned way - a spiral bound book, with lots of practice in a sensible order. It teaches the home row first, then top row, then bottom row. The other advantage is you are NOT looking at the screen while typing, (I recommend putting a piece of cardboard over the screen while typing so you don't cheat). Then you really memorize the locations of the keys. Both of my homeschooled kids learned with this book around age 11 and they can touch-type perfectly now. Such a useful life skill. I used a $2 plastic brochure holder from the office supply store to hold it upright.We tried all the learn-to-type online programs but they were all too cutesy, or too distracting with their games and pressure to go fast. If you have a child who wants a game for reinforcement I recommend the games on Typing.com. But not the learning lessons. This book is much better.

I first got this book out of the library and was impressed with how easy it was to use. I could type a little but not touch-typing. When I stuck to it, my touch-typing improved dramatically. I have never taken typing lessons and being middle-aged, was afraid I'd never be any good at typing, let alone touch-typing. The author teaches you not only typing but about the keyboard, the best way to sit while typing and other useful information. I especially like how you must look at the book to do the lessons, rather than the screen. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn how to touch-type.

Don't waste money on online typing tutors. Its about training your brain and fingers and this book is perfect. Online games, skill tracking etc is fluff. This is the real deal

This has been great for teaching my sons how to type. I have them type one page a day and within a couple months they went from not knowing at all how to type to typing about 30 wpm.

I just ordered my 8 year olds first laptop. When I seen this book it took me back to the days when I was in school and how they use to teach us in typing class. Needless to say it's helped her typing a lot. She's definitely ahead of the class when it comes to her computer classes thanks to this book!

I purchased this book for a friend of mine to improve her typing skills. I occasionally develop my own drill pages for her when I think she needs more but that's not difficult to do. I find the print a bit small in this book but definitely workable. It is spiral bound and will stand beside the computer while typing. As for being able to tell when a mistake is made, if this book is being used with a computer, the word processing system will most likely show when a mistake is made.The delivery time was outstanding from Trinity City Books.

A great book to learn your typing skills especially if you're a beginner!! Easy to read and follow. Definitely a great book!
