Graeme Edge reveals so much about the group that makes them very real folks. It also shows that there is often a level of meaning about life, love, and relationships that they didn't consciously intend. The fun of this book is to read how some songs came about, and what ordinary life experiences prompted them; and then see the spiritual side of those same songs. He has always had a great sense of humor, and here we get a glimpse of some of the dynamics among the group members. The Moodies are one of my favorite bands, and this little book adds a lot to their revelations. Thanks, Graeme

The small book arrived after having been on order for about 3 weeks. The packaging for the book was appropriate. Having been a near lifelong fan of all work done by the Moody Blues, this small book of Mr. Edge's written work was another fine addition to my personal compilation of their musical and written material. It's really great to see the excellent written work of Mr. Edge that only serves to expand upon the superb drumming and percussion work (and some keyboard work on certain songs) that he has done over the years. Thanks again Amazon for providing me with another truly quality product.

Wonderful poetic words in lyrics.

Good memoir on the origins and ideas behind the contributions Graeme Edge made to the Moody Blues

thought provoking lyrics and a great story teller. I've always loved the Moody Blues and Graeme Edge is a huge part of that.

A wonderful small book. I enjoyed reading it very much.

As a man who writes poetry, I was happy to have this book, which contains some of my favorite words in music.

Edge's forte has always been words. This book runs the lyrics of his songs and poems both for the Moody Blues and his own Graeme Edge Band. There is also commentary on some of the songs. I did not give it five stars because there is not commentary on all of them. For those, it's just a lyric sheet. His poetry is beautiful, sometimes cosmic. He is best in his down-to-earth songs such as "I'll Be Level with You," a song to his son from 1971's "Every Good Boy Deserves Favor", or "Going Nowhere," a song about the break-up of a relationship of a middle-aged couple (sung wonderfully by Ray Thomas on the Moodies' "The Present" album from 1983) . Edge comes across as a nice guy who I would probably like a lot if I ever got to meet him. He has a self-deprecating sense of humor. When I saw the Moodies in Concord, Cal., in 1999, he came off the drums to recite his "Nothing Changes" from their then-new album "Strange Times." A few people got up to get beer. He said "Don't leave. I'm not going to sing!" Seeing the lyrics on the page helps appreciate his contirbution to the band better.
