Dee Henderson is back with her new character driven story that has plenty of twists, turns and a few surprises! I was thrilled to receive a review copy. This novel is written mostly in the POV of leading man Paul Falcon. Paul is a special FBI agent in Chicago at the top of his field in the Midwest. The leading lady is Ann Silver a Midwest Investigator, who’s called in to help local law enforcement solve their worst cases.Ann meets Paul when she passes a case off to him to work on. It just so happens the case is linked to a female shooter he’s been trying to track down for years. There’s an undeniable attraction between them. Ann tells Paul the story behind this case. When it’s over Paul wonders if they would ever see each other again. They would if he had a say in the matter.Ann says to Paul, “Even as a young girl I loved books. In my imagination I was there on those adventures.” Ann writes books to relax and take her mind off the horrific sites she has to see. All the while Ann explains the writing process and how she feels about books I wondered if Dee Henderson felt the same way?I like how Dee showed Ann and Paul’s passionate pursuit of God’s best for their lives in a very real and non-preachy way. I like that.Paul says to Ann, “I think you don’t realize how much of what you have with lovely (a name Ann called God) flows out to everyone around you, that’s why you are such a good friend. That’s why people trust you like they do. Part of what you are giving back to them is God loving them through you.”Dee’s new book is filled with mystery, police work and fun. I found it interesting to read about how each of them handles their high profile, stressful jobs. Paul asks Dave about Ann’s books. Paul and his wife are close to Ann and love her novels. “Here’s Ann’s published works Paul. Read the O’Malley series in order!” Surprised! Yes, I was too. I thought having Ann be the writer of this series was cool. It was very interesting to read why she wrote each of these books. I haven’t read this series but they’ve moved up a few notches on my to be read list. LOL!I enjoyed the mystery, suspense and rich characterization in this character driven novel. This author did a brilliant job of giving readers an up-close and personal look at what Paul and Ann’s jobs required and how they went about getting to know each other. I also enjoyed seeing how their faith got them through some pretty horrific stuff. This book is to be savored, not rushed through. You’ll want to enjoy every word. You’ll smile as you read how creative Paul and Ann are in spending time together and getting to know each other. I highly recommend this as your next book club pick or reading choice. There is so much to think about and discuss. I’m looking forward to Dee Henderson’s next book/ You will too!I’m thankful for the review copy of a book that answers the question, “What does it mean when someone says; God has healed me from the inside out? How can I let God touch the hurts in my heart and be healed?”Denise says, “You can only live with your heart shut down for so long. Eventually you will fight for your healing or you will die… Some even find God when their lives fall apart!....Sometimes a person has to die in order to really live. ..Hungry for something real?.. (tired of just going through the motions of life and feeling numb inside?) Want to feel alive? Seek whatever helps you rediscover that carefree childlike heart I know is in there somewhere – that is what you should be doing to Feel Alive!”This is a walk Denise’s characters have gone on and/or just started down the path. I enjoyed this cast so much, they are fun, bold and each have been knocked around by life. Each has a different result and story to tell.Scarlett Jo is a Pastor’s wife that’s fun and doesn’t care what people think about her. Denise writes, “Scarlett Jo hadn’t simply survived her life. She had learned how to live in spite of it- and not to worry too much about the perceptions of others.”Scarlett Jo is fun loving, free spirited and an inspirational person! I loved her voice and her outlook on life she says, “Oh, child do you not know about couponing?...I’m feeding a pack of wolves at my house. If I didn’t know how to coupon, my children would have had to eat me by now. But if you ever want to learn how to do it, you just let me know. It is crazy girl! I can go to a store and leave and they’ve paid me money.” (I want to learn – teach me! Teach Me! Grin!)The characters in this novel welcome you in as family. They’re situations will tug at your heart. What I love about Denise’s books are this, you’ll be having a good time reading then all of a sudden she cleverly interweaves spiritual truths that pierce your heart, make you stop and think. Denise will help you “See lies you believe.” You’ll laugh out loud and get teary eyed in parts of this story, a winning combination.I really liked Scarlett Jo’s husband too he says, “I watch people. I take in people. And to be honest, I learn a great deal about them by what they don’t say.”I highly recommend this novel and the non-fiction companion book called Reclaiming your Heart! It’s a win win combination. A book you’ll want to put on your summer reading list. Did I mention I just love the cover of this book too! It’s a keeper!Disclosure of Material Connection:I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review. I realized after I started reading this book that I had already read it but decided to read it again because I couldn't remember everything that happened and Dee Henderson is such a great writer. I was glad that I did because a lot of what happened at the end I didn't remember. It is a different book from the other books of hers that I had read and was interesting on different levels. One of the main characters, Ann Silver, was a writer as well as a cop, the Midwest Homicide Investigator and pilot. She had written the stories of friends of hers that happen to be the characters from Ms. Henderson's O'Malley series. Her character is very complex in that she is good at every job that she does and has many friends but is also an introvert that only lets men friends get so close before she breaks it off but remains close friends. She enjoys being single and has no desire to get married. As a sheriff in a rural area near Chicago, Ann works a wreck where the driver is killed and evidence is found that she feels is related to an FBI cold case named the lady shooter serial killer case. She turns the case over to FBI agent Paul Falcon in the Chicago office. This starts a whirlwind of activity at the agency. As Paul gets to know Ann, he finds that they have many friends in common. Paul becomes interested in dating Ann but it takes a long time for Ann to return the interest. Along the way, Ann's case becomes a long investigation into many murders committed by the lady shooter. There are lots of twists and turns that pop up that involve other people close to Ann. This is a long book that has very detailed and outlined information into how the investigation goes over a period of months. Along the way we see the friendship develop between Ann and Paul and revisit some old friends from other books by Ms. Henderson. There were some areas that were slow going for me but it is a very interesting book and worth it as things take some surprising turns at the end. This is a very deep, faith filled book with well developed characters.

I just finished this book and while I have read the O'Malley series which I enjoyed. I cannot say the same for Full Disclosure. The main story is about a cold case of a for hire killer who is a women and she has decided to turn herself in after years of being retired from killing. She has tapes and is bargaining for a center sentence. There is a side murder or two and one involves very big names In crime and politics. The main characters Paul and Ann are forty and never married they do end up together. Why I gave the story only 3 stars is because Ann Sliver is written as such a selfish woman. thru the whole story it is Paul who has to keep reaching out to her and moving their relationship along in every aspect there is no sex and very little romantic emotion at all from either character Paul is definitely defined character and Ann remains a more unknown and just not very friendly. The story it self is really good and held my interest I personally wish that she had not written it with the romance even thought Ann is part of the mystery. Her dog black shows more emotion in the story. This is my personal opinion and I paid full price for the book. JL

Having been an avid reader of Dee Henderson as in I have read every book she has ever written at least twice this book just pulls it all together and makes you say.... hum I wonder. I have bought this book several times and then I give it away or leave it in a vacation rental. I just love Ann and enjoy when you get to visit with her in other books. Somehow I missed this one when it came out. She was in Unspoken so I had to go meet Ann and Paul in this book. To be so loved as Paul loves Ann.
